Irving Sitnick has been a Moses & Singer partner since 1980. He practices in the areas of trusts and estates and taxation, providing sophisticated tax advice to individual clients and their enterprises.
Representative recent transactions in which he has counseled clients include the sale of a family business in a leveraged buyout, the liquidation of a client's interest in a public corporation through a tax-free merger, the intergenerational transfer of assets using family limited partnerships, and the use of trust structures to reduce estate and gift taxes and to shift the incidence of income taxes while protecting family assets.
Mr. Sitnick also represents individual and corporate fiduciaries as Executors and Trustees and advises not-for-profit organizations and their leadership in complying with applicable fiduciary rules.
Mr. Sitnick is active in charitable affairs as a Director of the Henry and Lucy Moses Fund, as a Member of the Board of Trustees of The Educational Alliance and The Elaine Kaufman Cultural Center and as a Director of the VZV Research Foundation, Inc. In addition, he was recently honored in 2007 with a listing in “New York Super Lawyers.”
